Reset switch

Hi -- Just built my first PC. The case I used is a Lian-Li 1200. A very nice case, but it has no reset switch, which is annoying. I woudl like to buy a switch to connect to the reset pins on my MB. I haven't had any luck finding a switch. Has anyone else added an external reset switch? Can someone recommend a switch to use and a place to buy it? Thanks.

You can use any momentary normally open switch and mount it any place you want. You will need to solder on wires and if you have an old case, use the wires from that. You can find many different styles and sizes at a Radio Shack.

Note what Flanzig is saying, this switch only makes contact whilst you are pressing it, it is a momentary switch, as soon as you take your finger off, contact is broken.
You can mount something like this very discretely out of view.

Thanks for the quick replies. I'll get one of those switches. One other thing: Is it possible to find one of those little plastic thingamabobs that go onto the pins on the MB? Part of my problem is I'm not sure what the are called. If I don't get one of those, I don't know how to attach the wires to the MB.

One of the reasons I offer a trade in on old machines when suppling a customer with a new machine.
Every trade in I get, if it can't be easily repaired and sold/donated, gets stripped down to the last screw and clip. I have plastic pots full of drive mounting screws, motherboard screws, LED's and switches, a few of the plastic sleeves you refer to and various case screws.
I have no idea where you can buy those little plastic covers I only wish I did, I have seen the actual insert on a few electrical hardware sites.

OK, thanks. I don't have a roomful of spare parts, so I'll keep looking.

Check around with friends/family/local computer shop/school to see if they have an old computer case laying around to get the front panel wiring harness with the plugs on the wires.

Thanks again,

Frozencpu is a great site for parts, but for the life of me I can't find a site that sells the little black plastic connector covers, so i will carry on collecting them from old machines.
