Intel build, updated...
Well, her is my pc specs, I won't change two thing usless they are better for my buck. The cpu, and the gpu. I also love this mobo and don't even have it yet. Most things have stayed the same since the last thread but I chnaged the cooling, because the case I have won't have anything as of 120mm fans. I need to know the best airflow fans that have green lED lights.
MoBo ASUS P5W DH DELUXE/WIFI-AP Socket T Case XION XION _ Solaris XON-403 CPU Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe GPU SAPPHIRE 100149L Radeon X1900XT 512MB Ram CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 Hdd Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD2500KS 250GB CD/DVD LITE-ON Black x2 Cooling APEVIA(ASPIRE) CF4S-UGN 80mm 2x Extra cooling Spire CF401G 80mm Ball PSU Antec TRUEPOWERII TPII-550 ATX12V 550W Extra Microsoft Keyboard + Mouse It comes to about $1725. I am waiting on a price drop near christmas. I reason I am posting this again is because I need to know if my cooling looks good. I know everything is compatible, but if their any better deals out there tell me. One thing is that I am getting it near christmas so nor mail-in-rebates would count. I plan to overclock it alot but I am ask for the heatsink/fan for christmas, so no need to pick it out, but what is the best. All time best, and I don't care about the price uless it is over $100. |

I highly sugget you spend a few extra bucks on a case. Like a coolermaster centurion 5. Im not saying you spend 100 bucks on one. But get something of decent quality or your components and your fingers will regret it.
Especially since your overclocking. Proper case cooling is important. Otherwise good build. Do you plan on crossfire? (psu)

Not so new

I second Ferrari on a new case. I just don't think you should have to rely on purchasing extra fans.

Already borght the case. Damn I knew I should of done something else. I love the look of it and has decent size. It is very stable, but flimzy under the motherborad but that will be a easy mod so I can reenfore the metal. I probally will change the case latter on. In march or sometime after I goten everything I want for evrything. Then I will save for a video cameria. If the case has bad air flow I will take the glass panel off and put my floor fan next to it. I hope that would be enough.
The only place I found where someone coud cut thereselfs is where the psu sit, and I have rubber overthat right now. |

It isn't that bad of a case. It just could of been better. The obly thing I don't like is the plastic front.

The one that comes with the Retail box....it's plenty sufficient and not using it voids your warranty.

Thermalright have some of the best performance heatsinks out there. Note that you have to pick your own fan (which is nice) seperately.

The limit to how good of a cpu heatsink you can get is how much patience you'll have with taking the time to properly seat the heatsink. (These arent as easy to seat as stock heatsinks).
Just out of curiousity have you ever built a computer before? Some good examples of very high quality heatsinks would be the following: Thermalright Ultra-120- Best of the best performing heatsinks on the market. Requires additional fan. Tower style heatsink that takes 120mm fans of your choice. Make sure you visit www.thermalright.com to read the instructions on installation and make sure your case doesnt have any issues with the heatsink. (Which I doubt since your getting a p180. Nonethless, never hurts to measure. Thermalright Ultra90- Basically the 120's little brother. Needs additional fan. Takes 90mm fans. Thermalright XP90- Awesome little heatsink. High performer, although a little less then the above two. But great for small form factor. Requires additional 90mm fan. Since your mounting on lga775 Make sure you purchase this adapter bracket for socket 775. Arctic cooling Freezer7 pro- Great little budget heatsink. Not as good as the above two but uses intel's stock mechanism so its easy to install. Comes with fan. Before I suggest a 90 or 120mm fan, whats your noise tolerance? Would like to go with a $12 fan controller and a little noisy fan and quiet it down. Or would you prefer to go with a already quiet fan? If you have any further questions feel free.. If none of these are working out I do have a few other choices. |

Well, the 120-ultra could fit insider my case maybe. IT is short about 5mm. I alreadt to intofact the motherborad. I need to know if the heatsinks fan will be ontop of the heatsink or on the side. i NEED IT TO BE ON THE SIDE BUT IF IT IS ON TOP i WON'T BE ABLE TO BUY.

Do you mean that the tower heatsinks wont fit in the case? If thats the situation then I suggest the XP90 or XP90C plus a decent 90mm fan.

Well, I think I am going to go with the little brother because the other one was too big. Well, thanks. Also I changed my board. Im getting a dfi infinity.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813136168 It may not overclock as well but it save me $100. |

It overclocks pretty decent, varying situations. However it isnt exactly the best beginner board for overclocking. If you wanna save some money why not the asus p5b?
The dfi infinity is nonetheless a quality board. Oh and make sure you get a decent 90mm fan that corresponds with your noise tolerance levels. Or just get a little higher one and put it on a fan controller. Either way some good brands would be delta, sanyo denki, and panaflo. |

I do plan on getting a fan controler. One for my 3.5 bay. I do what good fans though. I plan on getting two 90mm fans for my case as one for the heatsink. The only reason I am getting the dfi borad is because it is at a great price for how much it can overclock. I seen 3.85ghz and with some modification over 4.0ghz. It isn't about saving money as much as have the better borad. Really I don't need the stupid extra features the other borad had. They are nice to have, only if you use them. That is why each computer is set apart from one another. Each computer has it's own specifications and my are quite high and they are in my price range. I plan to do everything on it, expecically game design with XNA express when it comes out at the end of the year. Well, thank for the help, even though I will be waiting to atleast christmas to get this thing built. I just want to have a hand on things before I even concider my purchase. I will write a review on the specifations that I will have. Hope it will be 5 stars. But most likly to be 6.
