trouble installing xp

hey guys i just bought parts to build my computer and i am having issues installing xp onto it. whenever i try to to install xp it says that it cannot detect any hardrives to install xp on. its amd athalon x2 am2 with 2 gigs of ram on two 250GB SATA HDD on stripping raid. help be much appreciated

ok here is an update...i disabled my raid and disabled my SATA 1 and 2... where i had my HDD and now i am able to install xp onto the harddrive. will i be able to switch it to raid later on after instalation of xp?

Not without wiping the drives and reinstalling everything.
