Places to buy gear...

I assume a large percentage of you buy your parts from an online store...Geeks, Newegg, Tigerdirect...

These are the places I know about, and I'm looking for more. I hate Tigerdirect, because I don't like all that shady rebate business...Geeks seems allright, although their selection is limited (I was looking for an AMD 64x2--not in stock!).

Where do you all buy your gear? Where have you had the best luck?

I hope this is the correct forum for this question...
Thanks in advance for your advice...

can't beat newegg. 99.9% of the people here would say the same. Unless you live outside the us.

But also www.zipzoomfly.com www.xoxide.com www.buy.com

that should be a good start for you.

Right on--
Thanks guys.

I like Newegg too, but I also like to look around! This is very helpful.

In fact--Mr or Ms Moderator, assembling a list of these places would make a very informative sticky for new dudes like me...

can't fight against newegg, especially if you need to return/exchange something.

I've always worked with ZipZoomFly and would recommend them to anyone. The worked special with me in a few unique shipping cases where I had to coordinate part arrival dates and stuff when I was living in Argentina and only passing through the US for a couple days at a time.

They're nice when you're ordering $3000 worth of stuff at one time, and have had a history of purchases with them.

For selection and reliability, you can't beat Newegg and zipzoomfly.
Avoid that tankguys site.
It is some guy running bait and switch scams out of his house.
The bottom line is that he does not operate in compliance with consumer protection laws and will rip you off if given the opportunity to do so.

Ferrari has dealt with tankguys and had good experiences, but there are others who have had serious issues.

it is just wise to stray from tankguys when you have much more reliable and dependable places to "buy your gear"
