Someone HELP! I'm losing my mind

Ok here's the deal. Got some stuff from Tiger Direct ( I know problem #1) and I'm trying to get it all to work- and needless to say.. .IT WON'T!
So here's what I have:

Case #1- Dynex Case w/350 power supply, MSI PM8M3-V Motherboard, Intel Celeron 351 3.2Ghz socket 775 CPU, 1 stick of Ultra 512MB pc3200 ddr ram with a Masscool cooling fan which is rated up to 3.6Ghz. Everything except for the case was one of the barebones deals.

Case #2- Antec Case w/ powersupply Abit SG-80 socket 775 mobo, same processor and fan with 1 stick of 512Mb pc3200 Ram- again everything but the case was barebones deal from Tiger. The cases that they sent with the stuff were totally banged up and broken.

Now onto the problems at hand. I put everything in properly, was even wearing my grounding cable which was connected to the case. The CPU is properly seated with the thermal paste put on the backside where the fan is sitting.

Then I go to start them up. Case #1 starts up- beeps once- then goes to POST- says it recognized the hard drive- WD 20Gb. Then shuts itself down. There is something else on the screen but I can't read it because it goes too fast. It also makes a strange clicking type sound which seems to be coming from the motherboard.

I'll go on to case #2 later. I want to get this one working first because it's for my mom and she's being a nag.

Thanks in advance for any/all help that you can give me guys and gals.

Case 1 - try this to be sure it isn't shorting:

At least disconnect all the drives and anything extra to make sure none of the drives are causing problems.

However, the likely problem is that the power supply bundled with the case is likely junk and can't keep the rig powered - it's probably pooping out.

Try the Antec power supply from the Antec case - they bundle their own power supples. Antec has quality power supplies, so hopefully that'll get the other working (for now anyway). Don't have to keep it in there if it's for your mom, but just see if you can fix the other one or eliminate the power supply as the culprit.
