Case Fans and Power Supply

Hi everyone.

I am using Thermaltake's Shark chassis and Intel's badaxe D975XBX mobo. I'm confused as to how and where to attach the shark's front and rear case fans' power cables. The mobo's manual emphasizes connection to the mobo, yet the shark's front fan's cable has a "Power supply unit" label on it (seeming to suggest hooking it up to the power supply). Which is right? The chassis doesn't come with sufficient documentation to point me in the right direction on this.

I'd appreciate feedback on this.

Thank you.

Either way is OK. The motherboard connection will let you monitor the fan speed if the fan has that capability.

Send a message via AIM to newbuilder14
3 Pins = Motherboard
4 Pins = Power Supply

Chassis fan headers on mother boards are generally provide current enough for a couple of small fans(80mm or less) or 1 big fan.
