Yet another power supply question.

Hello everyone.

I'm about to put in an order to Tiger Direct for some components for my new PC and I was wondering about the power supply. My system so far is as follows:

Intel Core 2 Duo e6600 2.4ghz
AW9D max motherboard
BFG Geforce 7900 GT 256mb
2 gig Corsair Dual Channel TwinX PC6400 DDR2 800mhz (edited)
Western Digital Caviar WD2000 SATA-150 200GB
DVD-RW
17 inch flat panel monitor

(edit) I'm thinking of going for the Enermax Power Supply listed here:

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...&sku=E456-2036

My questions are:

1. Is this a decent power supply?

2. Does anyone know of a good mail order site, with reasonable prices, that ships worldwide (or to Korea at least)

Thanks for any help.

Eric

I wouldn't buy anything from TigerDirect...they have horrible customer service and their reputation is pretty bad around here. And do they even ship to Korea?

I'm thinking of going for the Ultra X-Finity Power Supply listed here:

Nope. I'd look at Enermax, Fortron Source, PC Power & Cooling, Seasonic, Sparkle Power or Zippy instead.

500 watts from a good quality power supply should be fine for that system.

You really should try to find 800MHz DDR2 RAM...it'll make a big difference. Remember, your C2D 6600 has a FSB of 1066MHz. I'd also look for Corsair RAM instead of using the Kingston stuff.

Tiger Direct has been the only place that I've found that will ship to Korea. If anyone knows of someplace better, by all means let me know about it.
I'm going to the electronics market here in Seoul this weekend and if I'm lucky I'll find everything I need at reasonable prices. The motherboard and cpu might be a bit pricey though as they're pretty new. The mb isn't even actually out yet.
Thanks for the tips on the power supply though, and the memory. I'll keep looking. If anyone knows of any RAM that would work well with an AW9D please let me know. Unfortunately my budget is around the $200-$250 range right now. I guess I could go with one gig now and updgrade to two in a few months though if it means I get a huge boost in quality.

Thanks
Eric
