Question Where to buy components?

Hello, I'm new to this world. Just getting started and wondering what companies people generally order their components from--e..g, hard drives, RAM, cooling fans, etc.

Thanks In Advance!

I am finishing my first build. I ordered from both newegg and zipzoomfly. Both were great. Zipzoomfly was exceptionally good with timeliness. I went with the cheapest shipping option and always got my stuff either the next day after the order or 2 days after. When I build again, I'll probably just order everything from zipzoomfly.

Most people here that live in the US use Newegg. I always keep a lookout at local stores for specials, rebates and closeouts on stuff. I just picked up an 80gig WD IDE at Target for $38.

Order from anyone that doesn't ship through DES MOINES, IA, US
I've had a package just sitting there since yesterday.
I think everyone there is dead.
I'm beginning to worry - does anyone have an emergency number for DES MOINES?

newegg.com, mwave.com, buy.com can be useful also. those are the main sites I've usually bought parts from but there's more out there

bowersk: I believe that Iowa wakes up every four years for the presidential caucus. That's the only time you ever really hear about Iowa. Hopefully, you won't have to wait until '08 for your package. LOL.

HAHAHAHA all of this Iowa talk is hilarious

i would suggest

newegg.com
tigerdirect.com (mainly just for things related to memory b/c it seems cheapest there usually)
zipzoomfly.com
amazon.com (again, if you are looking for lowest price... just beware and read about possibly getting ripped off on amazon.com)

"does anybody have an emergency number for DES MOINES?"

HAHAHAHAHA

newegg.com, usually some of the best prices, and good reliability.

mwave.com, tigerdirect.com, and zipzoomfly.com would be some secondary choices.
