This should be easy....
Right... I'm PLANNING to build a new PC....
The question is what is the best Processor of 64 bit arch (AMD vs Intel P4), and therefore the best motherboard to go with it? I want to spend about £100 (about $190) on the processor, and about the same on the motherboard (hopefully less).... And then, the best graphics card to go with all that, again for about the same price... Would like some opinions. Thanks |

You are just on the edge of being able to do a good Intel Core 2 Duo system. I'd go for that. An E6400 would run about $227.00 US, but the GIGABYTE GA-945P-S3 motherboard that looks like a nice budget Core 2 board only runs $90.99. Something along those lines anyway.

go with the intel core 2 duo E6300 and you will not be sad at all. That processor is awesome. After that, the p5b is probably the best board out for a new computer. It is probably the only motherboard I would buy right now that uses and Intel processor.

Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2-6400C5 TwinX (2x1GB) (MY-092-CS) http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatal...S2_Memory.html 6th one down OR Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2-5400C4 TwinX (2x1GB) (MY-095-CS) http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatal...S2_Memory.html 7th one down |

About the RAM....
Don't really wanna spend £200... More around £50..... I take it that just any old DDR2 RAM won't do.... or will it be ok...? |
