Wont Boot Up

Fist Build.

Note: I do not have a video card installed (on backorder)

When I hit the power button on the case it powers on than instantly powers off. I have tried many different wiring combinations but come up empty. I am just trying to get it to power on and was just testing my Case to motherboard Connections.

Any thoughts on what could be causing this?

http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=132409 (try the screwdriver method of starting up)

You should probably wait till you get the video card...you aren't going to get much action until you do.

you case might be shorting the mobo. i think. make sure no other metal parts are interfearing with your mobo

this seems to be such a recurring issue in the forums. I would guess that you didn't use the "rubber washers" that came with the mobo? So many people do not use them already, or possibly do not understand what they are really for. On a different forum, I saw that issue come up a lot. There is usually a good-sized metal circle around where the screws go in anyways, but, Just make sure you used the "rubber washers"

Please provide a complete list of parts being used for this computer. List the parts by brand and model including the power supply (brand and wattage).

When trying for first POST you should have the motherboard out of the case with just the core components installed...power supply, motherboard, CPU, CPU heatsink, video card, RAM, PC case speaker (if the motherboard doesn't have a built-in piezo speaker) and monitor. You can follow the directions found here.
