smokin Success! (mostly...)

I first wanted to say THANKS to the forum regulars & all the PC Mech contributors! I completed my first build this morning, and I couldn't be more excited . I followed the "Build Outside the Case" thread & got things working with minimal difficulty. The only negative I've noticed is the Power LED & the HDD LED aren't working. I'm 99% sure they're connected right, but could that represent a larger issue?

My temps seem to be stable at idle, about 42C, & everything (besides the LEDs) looks to be doing well! Any comments about the LEDs welcome, but not critical (unless it is critical! )

Thanks again!
Savio

Here's what I had to work with:
Case: Antec Sonata II (w/ 450W PSU; 120mm Fan)
Motherboard: ASUS M2N-E
CPU: AMD Athlon X2 3800+
GPU: eVGA nVidia 7600GT KO
RAM: Corsair XMS2 1GB (2x512M) in Dual Channel
HDD: Western Digital 250GB (16M Cache)
Opt: LITE-ON CD/DVD Writer Combo
OS: Win XP (SP2)

Cool beans, Savio!! Congrat -- Try taking off the power and HD connectors and turning them 180 degrees. That will most likely do it.

Good going! Makes you fee good. Doesn't it? Yeah, it's somethin' simple with the LEDs.

Yup... that's a pretty common mistake. I've made it once with the power button, and for the life of me I couldn't figure out why it wasn't turning on... took a couple minutes to realize I need to rotate the connector.

Good going with the build Enjoy your PC.

The power button connector doesn't have polarity...it can be installed either way and it'll work. It's just a momentary contact switch. You just have to be sure you've got the right pins connected.

Then I stand corrected Thanks Cricket...

I must have had the wrong pins selected the first time. When I took it out, rotated it, and put it back in, it worked fine; I probably put it back on the right pins.
