Have you made sure that the extra power connections to the video card and mother board have been made? CPU heatsink fully latched down correctly and tight?

Try that. You probably shouldn't have gone with a DFI for a first build...they can be really picky. Especially with the RAM used. I don't see that RAM on their recommended list. http://us.dfi.com.tw/Product/xx_prod...RODUCT_ID=4696

I made the exact mistake last night as suggested by flanxzig. Took me about an hour to realize that the newer mobos have a separate 4, pin 12V power connector from the psu that runs the graphics card. It goes on the upper left (torwards the middle) on a ATX board. Labeled "ATX12V" on the board. Hope this helps. Good luck fellow traveller.

That RAM may not be the ticket either. If you read around (tonite) you will find many posts on RAM-chipset-mobo incompatabilities with C2D setups. If I'm not mistaken, there are several posts related to OCZ problems.

ALl the power supply cords have been placed in, reseated and reseated again and again, they are in correctly the 24pin connector and the extra 4 pin connector. The graphic card is made so that a cord is not needed to be attached to the card itself it is powered from the PCIe port, When the power is turned the fans on the card turn on but it still doesnt work.
I also sent emails to DFI and they report to me that the OCZ platinum pc2-6400 will work in the motherboard, and even though the 800mhz is not listed in the manual 800mhz is the standard for the board. |

Did you try the troubleshooting link that blue60007 posted? Do that before you return anything. What you're seeing is a common mistake by first time builders. If the motherboard is shorting/grounding out to the case you'll get nothing on the monitor. Removing the motherboard from the case will tell you if the core parts are good or not. Make sure that any standoffs installed in the motherboard mounting tray match up to the mounting holes in the motherboard.

ok so, Sent back mobo for RMA, got new mobo, set it up as the thread directed, NO GO! used the new graphic card and the old working graphic card. I emailed DFI and every1 else again:
Cmos should never be jumpered to the clear position to try and start a board. Not really surprised it did not try to boot that way...Now that you have a second new board and not repaired or such...it is going to be an issue with a part that is not the board...my suspicion is the memory, power supply or the cpu... It is possible that stick of ocz is giving some issues since there have been a number of users with ocz PC6400 that would 'not' boot...they went to the Ocz support forum and setup and rma for the memory...seems no one has written back with a continuing issue after that. http://www.bleedinedge.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=46 OCZ support forum...and they are aware of this problem at Ocz so I am told. Thank you. So, OCZ gave me RMA, its in transit i go out and by a cheap K-Byte 533mhz DDR2 which is compatible, put it in and STILL NO WORKing ; ; im running out of paths to run down here. |

Are you SURE you have all the power connections to the board hooked up? DFI boards tend to have MORE than just the standard 20-24 pin and 4 pin connector. They often have connections for another 12V molex as well as a floppy connector. They like their power. I would also question whether your PSU is enough for a DFI board. Go to DFI street and check out their list of recommended power supplies.
