first build problem

problem with build
am2
asus m2n-e
Amd x2 3800
saphire x1600
FSP Group (Fortron Source) AX450-PN, 12cm FAN, version 2.0, 2 SATA, PCI Express, 450W Power Supply
it turns on for 2 seconds, cpu fan, gpu fan spin and the green light is on then it just stop working but the green light is still on. basicly i havent instasll mobo in the case it sitting out side.
help please

Make sure it is on a non conductive surface like the mobo box, and unhook all the drives, and be sure everything is seated properly. Usually in this case you may have the processor heatsink fan improperly seated, or cpu improperly in there, The memory could be not snapped in good or my be incompatable, or it could be a defective motherboard.

i put the mobo on the staic bag so now the mobo is fried huh ok what to do i next i know i stall every thing correct so

I think it's just the inside of those static bags that are static protective, not necessarily the outside, but you'll still need to do normal troubleshooting procedures to isolate the faulty component.

ok i got it runny outside of the box but every time i try to put in the case it doesnt even want to turn on so is there any thing that goes between the mobo and case

Your case should have come with a bag of screws. Inside should be standoffs, they look like this: http://www.linuxis.us/linux/media/re.../standoffs.jpg You need to screw them into the holes in the case and then place the motherboard on top of them. Then the board won't ground against the case.

You need to install standoffs between the case and the motherboard. You want 1 under each mounting hole in the motherboard and only under the mounting holes.
