First time Build
This is my second time of addressing the same problem
Im trying to rebuild mycomputer, I have an Asus K8V-X SE motherboard. When it is all connected and powered on there is no beeping. There is no signal to the monitor. I was trying to use a new ATI 2006 All-in-wonder video card. I have since bough a generic PCI express video card since the ATI wanted drivers loaded before installation. The motherboard is receiving power, and turns on the fans from the front of the case. I have change the speaker connection around and gotten nothing. The Hard Drives and and CD-ROM drives will not spin up unless I disconnect the IDE cable from the motherboard. Again they are dead until they are not connected to the mother board, as soon as I disconnect the IDE cable they spin up. I have moved the CMOS jumper to wipe it, but still not luck getting anything on the screen or any beeping. The Motherboard is on standoffs. THis is the second motherboard and CPU i have had the same problem with. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This comes up time and time again but I have a feeling it could well be due to the PSU you are using.
I've not heard of RAID MAX so cannot comment on their quality but low 320Watt supply is most likely the problem with your system. |

Are the parts in or out of the case currently? If they're assembled in the case, try this troubleshooter and let us know what happens.

ok
I removed all the parts and put in on the cardboard. The fans fired up on the motherboard. But there was nothing on the monitor. I tried both my video cards. There was also no sound other than the fans firing up.

Do you have another compatible power supply you can test with? RaidMax power supplies are rubbish.
Do you have extra compatible RAM you can test with? Ultra brand RAM doesn't have the best reputation. Something else to try...pull the RAM or video card and see if you get any BIOS error beeps when you start the system back up. If you don't get any beeps you may have a defective motherboard. Cricket
