What's Your Opinion?

Just to see how my first computer build went I would like your opinion on how I did.. By the way i'm still working on it but for the most part it's complete.

MB: ASRock 775V88+
RAM: 2GB DDR400; CAS Latency 3
CPU: Pentium 4
Video: nVIDIA GeFORCE FX5500
HDD ( C: ): 80GB EIDE
HDD ( D: ): 111GB SATA
Cooling Devices: Thermaltake Big Typhoon (CPU), 2 80mm case fans.

I'm planning on transferring ALL data including OS to my SATA drive and turning my old EIDE drive into an external HDD. Then i'm planning on getting a second SATA drive and installing that. I'm also planning ond adding 2 more GB of RAM with CAS latency of 2.

Not sure what you're asking here...what do you want our opinions on? Your choice of parts?

Not sure what the point of asking us to critique your parts after bought them is. But I will say this, everything should work together.

If you had come to us before, I would have said AsRock is a budget brand, Asus would be a better choice. And if this is a gaming machine, the FX5500 is going be underpowered.

But like I said, it will all work together, so enjoy it.

yeah the graphics card sucks completely. i was unaware of how to purchase a video card "correctly" but since then i've learned a few things.. but i do have one question.. would have i been better off with an AMD? cuz my friend tells me that AMDs run at cooler temps and Intels usually give off alot of heat.. is that true?

Depends on which exact AMD and INTEL processors you're comparing.
