I put all the parts in and booted up the pc. all the fans and such were going, only there was no signal to the monitor. I switched the new monitor with an old one and got the same result. Do you think it could be a bad video card? What other things can i try before getting a new vid card?

I'm no expert but its either the motherboard of the graphics card. Do you have another graphics card laying around, if you do then switch them out and see if thats the problem. Other then that man, I don't know, wait for one of the tech guys to see this.

Follow the troubleshooting instructions found here and let us know what happens. You must remove the motherboard from the case when doing this...you're trying to determine if the motherboard is shorting/grounding out to the case or not.
