smokin PC Build, Parts Help

Case: LIAN LI PC-60BPLUSII
Motherboard: ASUS P5W64 WS Professional Socket T
Graphics Card: Geforce 7950GX2 1GB
Power Supply: XION Supernova
Processor: Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800
RAM: Kingston HyperX 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel
Hard Drive: Seagate SV35 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s
Monitor: SAMSUNG 225BW Black 22" 5 ms (GTG) Widescreen LCD Monitor
CD/DVD Drive: HP 16X DVD±R DVD Burner With LightScribe, 5X DVD-RAM
Processor Fan: ZALMAN CNPS9500 AT 2 Ball CPU Cooling Fan/Heatsink

These are the parts I am currently going to use. Any suggestions on parts you think are useless, or could be a bit better. Am I missing anything?

Also, the Processor Fan is pretty nice, but is big, I'm affraid it might not fit into the Lian Li because of the wierd heat pipe device the case has in it...does anybody know for sure if it will/won't fit?

Thanks

Don't, don't, DON'T get that power supply and trust it with your excellent parts. Go for something from Antec, Enermax, FSP, etc.

Everything looks great, and that is a top quality HSF.

Do you have a power supply you can recommend for around $120...would be great if it looked cool as well.

What about this thermaltake, it got WAY more watts than I need, but that ok.

Or this Enermax, which you suggested as good, I don't know who makes good power supplies,

Will 500W be enough, or should I go with 620W

You don't have to use that duct ("weird heat pipe device")...if it's in the way, remove it from the case.

Which Motherboard

How well does the P5W work with the XFX? I'm a bit worried because the P5W is meant for an ATI card...but my card should run fine, right?

Don't put your parts at risk with a garbage quality PSU. Power (watts) is not the only criteria for a quality PSU. Look here to sort the wheat from the chaffe. A quality PSU has quality parts and accurate and stable voltages amongst other things.

You can use a Geforce card in that motherboard, no problem.

If your not worried about dual gpu configuration, which your not, hence the Nvidia card. (Sli is not compatibile with intel), that enermax liberty 500W should do great.

If you want to be future proof then go for the toughpower unit. Both are top notch quality.

I would recommend the Xcilo GreatPower 500 Watt PSU. It is only $95, but it is on the good PSU list, has a 140mm fan, 85% efficiency, Active PFC, Modular Cabling, Three 12V rails, and SLI Certification (although you wouldn't be able to use SLI with your current setup). You also might want to consider sacrificing a few hundred mhz to on the processor and stepping it down to a E6600 or E6700 if you need to save some cash there. I don't know how much the HP CD/DVD Drive costs, but an identical LiteOn drive is $37 on newegg. Enjoy your new PC!

After look more in depth, and reading your suggestions how about this power supply.
Its 600 Watts, which as you said might be a bit to much, but it seems like a really nice device.

http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16817341001

Its an OCZ GameXStream 600w.

Also thanks for your help on the XFX card compatability! Its a good card, right?

Great build.

I would however get some Corsair XMS instead of kingston hyperx. Hyperx is notorious for not running at rated timings, and is also not as well "good" in the sense of quality that corsair is.

That is a sweet processor, however if you ever want to save some money, then I would downgrade to a E6700. the 6800 doesnt offer all that much of a clockspeed advantage, but comes with better overclocking features. All your choice though.

Otherwise, good luck.

K, thanks for the info on the RAM. Just wondering, can the P5W use DDR2 1000 or DDR2 1066 or Even Higher, or should I stick with DDR2 800?
I think I'll splurge a bit and keep the 6800

Thank you so much Ferrari!

Well it should..but your ram will be downclocked to the fsb of your processor..so there really isnt any point. That ddr2 800 will give you plenty of bandwith for overclocking.
