ATI Crossfire Power Supply
Whats a good power supply for ATI Crossfire.
Is the enermax good... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817194004 ...??? Also is everything SLI compatible, also Crossfire compatible? |

That enermax is good. But if I had a choice these are the ones I would pick:
Silverstone ST75ZF Thermaltake Toughpower 700W Ocz Gamextreme 700W With the OCZ being even cheaper then your enermax

Ferrari...of those 3, which is the best? why?
Also, what features do those have, other than 700W that the enermax doesn't? ps. I'm using it with an Asus P5W, which uses a 24 Pin connection, all of those 3 have a 20+4 connection. Last edited by whubbard; 10-01-2006 at 11:53 AM. |

In short? More power and better rail division. The enermax is of high quality, but with powering high end crossfire, it would be just minimum. For the same price or less, you can get just as quality psu's for equal or less amount.
Any one of those would be a great choice. If you want good bang/buck go for the Ocz 700w. If you want the absolute best, go for the silverstone. I would personally go with the OCZ just because of its awesome price. 20+4pin is 24pin, just backwards compatible with 20pin as well. |

Isn't paying extra for 750W (which I probably wont need) a bit silly. Do you think the OCZ is better than the Thermaltake?

Like I said, the OCZ is the best bang for the buck. Its all you'll need. Just giving some other choices too.
The OCZ is actually just a rebadged FSP Epsilon 700w unit. However I picked the ocz brand over FSP's due to OCZs better price and customer service. However if I had to be really really nitpicky, I would choose the thermaltake. But that is offset by their (thermaltakes) horrible/nonexistent customer service. Atleast in my opinion. You do not need 750 watts, but you need Crossfire certification to be safe. That's why there's a certification program.
