It Has Died

I threw my back out this afternoon - came home early. I'm dyin' ! I lit up the new E6300 build and ZILCH! Instead of resting, I've been doing diagnostics. This is what I have at this point:
No Optical Drive
No Hard Drive (lites, anything) -
I took the cover off, fired it up, ran it no less than 5 minutes. Fans work, CPU heatsink warm, video card warm. Everything on the inside runs. I swapped IDE cables - notta. Took the multimeter out and tested it all. Green lite on PSU.
I took the board out, looked it all over, can't see anything obvious. OTHER THAN THE FACT THAT IT'S A FOXCONN BOARD ! It may have INTEL stamped on it, but it's a Foxconn. I'm not too happy about that. Intel farmed this one out bigtime. I don't have but one IDE connector on it, so swappage with cables ain't happenin'. I'm thinkin" board.
Any other suggestion? I'll be up a while. I can't lay flat!

Got another power supply you can try? Just to eliminate that possibility.

Did that. In fact, I'm using that PSU in the 805 that I'm typing with right now. The one that was in here is in there.

Rest. A clear head in the morning is better than staying up all night, trying to figure out a problem

Have you tried the out-of-case build? (I see you took out your board, but you didn't say anything about the out-of-case build )

Thanx. Yeah, it's way too late to be doin' this. I didn't do the out of case since everything on the inside was running as if normal. Since I have the board on the bench already, I'll try that when I get up, because it sure doesn't look like I'm going to be installing any plaza pavers in the morning! In the AM!

Intel has never built their own boards. They have been using Foxconn for their OEM for years.

Yeah, I knew that. I was tired and in pain - venting! I had a Foxconn in my old PIII Dell. I just got up a little while ago.
OK, I performed the out-of-case procedure. It goes "ZIP!" when I cross the pins. Nothing else. No fan activity, no smells, no other noises. Performed the procedure 3 times. It's like there is a dead short somewhere. What do you think ?

It's a sad story. I had a case number that was given to me by Intel when I was having the core voltage issue. I think that there was a problem all along, even though the system performance was beyond compare. Somewhat disappointing. Contacted Newegg, contacted Intel. I'm sending the board and CPU back priority mail, with a detailed letter. I'm going to get credit on the board and CPU and go ahead and apply it to a WiFi and a 6600. Might as well. I had that thing sold. I'm glad it decided to crash on me, instead of him. Anyway, he still wants me to build him one - I told him what had happened. I'll get him out of the way, and then do my own 6600.
