Processor?

And also that video card is AGP. For the same price I highly recommend the x1900xt. In fact, you may even want to ditch the idea of the AMD. Look for something like this:

Intel Core 2 Duo e6600 - I own one. They are very fast. --- $315

Asus P5B --- $140

Corsair XMS2 (2x1gb) --- $240 (after rebate)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145590

Sapphire ATI x1900xt 256mb --- $260

Hey socket 939 is still a awesome platform.

Overall the build looks great.

I'd personally pick this or this psu instead. But the antec you chose is still a decent unit.

Actually, I really like the one you had there, the TruePowerII 550w. I can actually vouch for it as I just purchased one and installed one in a new system. They are very accurate (as far as voltages go), extremely quiet (couldn't even tell it was on), and a good price.

Sure, the reason why I stay away from antecs nowadays. Their OEM (the people who actually make their psus) is CWT, or Chanell Well Technology. Now their psu designs are some of the best. But internal components of the psu's have downgraded recently. This is a not too big of a problem since fortron/fsp uses the same internal components in their psu's most of the time.

BUT antec/cwt's quality control has went severly downhill nowadays. The reason why Fotron gets by with their psu components and antec doesnt, is due to to the fact fortron/fsp keeps a heavy quality control.

Therefore leading to the fact of antec psu's being barbecued when they are put under heavy loads.
I have personally owned two antec psus and have switched them out for a different company due to this.
******

The first link is a FSP Blue storm 500W unit. An awesome unit with great quality parts and will outdo its power rating.

The second link is a Enhance 500W unit. Enhance are the people who MAKE Silverstone powersupplys. The SAME silverstone branded powersupply on newegg is 100 BUCKS. But I found this Enhance unit while browsing around and its 67 bucks versus the 100 at newegg.

Both are sweet units. I would go with whichever one you like better.

Okay, I didn't know that. Well I hope my Antec TPII stays alive. I like the FSP than in your case. By the way, since the Enhance is listed as 'bulk,' does it include a power cable, etc.?

Very good point. I cannot answer 100 percent to say if it does or does not come with a power cable. If you want to stay safe I suggest you just buy the fsp from newegg smoots.

If it doesnt they come dirt cheap at just about any decent electronics store.

Why are you buying a premium SLI board when you are using a single ATI video card? Save some big bucks and get an A8N5X or A8N-E. You also don't need XMS ram with 939 unless it's cheaper than value ram. You also don't need an aftermarket heatsink, the retail boxed processor comes with a decent heatsink/fan and if you don't use it you void the processor warranty.

What brand of ram do you recommend, thought i was going with quality since quality ram is important, or so Ive heard.

Wasnt aware that the processor came with a heatsink/fan though say if in the near future I was to overclock would the stock h/f keep it sufficently cooled.

Overclocking does not raise processor temperatures significantly till you start raising the core voltage.

So going with 4 sticks is better than 2 as the system I'm building is going to have 2 gigs
