Comp-Research

Does any one know were to go (on the web) to really understand PC hardware before attempting to build? I think i have a pretty superficial knowledge from just browsing through forums and reading hardware reviews. I've been going around to differest forums and its pretty much the same, someone will suggest a sit-up then people respond with the generic "no go with 2gigs , or the blahblah is overpriceed". Where is there solid information on how stuff actually works. mostly i've just been learning from reviews (like on tomshardware and anandtech), but nothing that tells you how the theory behind it and how that effects compatability. I went to the "how stuff works" website and all there stuff about computers is like from 1994. I guess the fuzzy area for me is mobo buss speeds, bios, memory timings and such...

Every single nite I will read some type of hardware physics data - somewhere. It does help. You can never know too much.
