New Build Problems

Stuck building a new PC. When powering on, power light comes on, fans twitch once, but don't spin. No beeps, no HD light, no HD activity, CD/DVD won't open & has no light.

Specs:
Just4PC Case w/400W PSU
Intel 945PVS Mobo
Intel Pentium D 840/3.2
Pioneer 710 CD/DVD
Seagate 250MB ATA100 HD
Single OCZ 1024MB DDR2 RAM

Bench build gives same results.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have both the 24 pin and 2x2pin power connections in place?

Do you have another power supply to swap in? The one in your case is probably low quality.

Sounds like psu, I had the same issue... Go and purchase a good quality one like ANTEC Enlight etc.... Here is a guide to which psu are recommend and which are not...

Based on the history of posts here, I suspect PSU also. Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot the PSU? I don't have a spare sitting around to substitute.

Thanks again,

Get a multimeter and check your pin voltage. Your mobo guide (and sometimes PSU guide) should have each required voltage listed.

I'd just replace the power supply on principle...the one in that JustPC case is just a cheap generic one that you really don't want to keep anyway.

I've used JustPC power supplies - but not on PCI-E boards. They seem to work okay on basic onboard video computers with 20 pin connectors.
