Must it be AMD?

What kind of games are you thinking of running on the system? Kids games can vary a lot in their requirments.

If you must have AMD, the Epox EP-9NDA3I is about the only decent AGP board left for socket 939. It takes DDR400 ram. Any other AGP 939 boards you are going to find out there are from crap manufacurers or have ULi or Via chipsets. That one is a Nforce.

It does accept dual core X2 processors.

I'm afraid I'd have to recommend that even though I'm an Intel fan - because there are no AGP boards that support Core 2 Duo. The AMD X2 is a better processor than the Pentium-D.

Just built a small gaming pc for my Nephew and was wondering if a 350 watt PS would be ok for this set-up:

EPOX EP-9NDA31 NF3250 939 MB
AMD A64 3800+ 2.4g 939 512 k
1g Corsair DDR400 3200 memory
W.D. 40 g 7500K 8M SATA HD
LiteOn SHW 160P6S05 16X Dual Layer DVD Burner
MSI 6600GT 128m Video Card.

This first thing to consider is the make of the PSU?

A decent quality 350Watt might be adequate, a cheap 350Watt certainly won't be!

350W is more than enough from a reputable manufacturer.

I would hesitate to say it was "more than enough"...

I care to disagree, I run a P4, SATA HDD, 2 Opticals, GeForce 6600, and some extras all on a 305w PSU. No problems whatsoever.

OK Its a 380 so it should be ok, One other ?
It has one of those cone things mounted to the side door case fan, and it almost touches the CPU Fan. Should I remove the case fan so it don't conflict with the CPU fan, That way it has a clear exaust to the outside.
I'm not sure if the cpu fan blows out or in. Tha case fan blows out.
Thanks Guys

I'd move it to the rear or front of the case.

That's a junk power supply. Replace it with this:

There's a reason it's free. You replaced junk with junk. Do yourself a favour - return it and get the one GLC linked to; a good power supply for a 939 AGP system.

The MSI 6600GT requires a "minimum 350Watt PSU". Based on that I would hesitate to say it was more than enough.

What P4 are you running...they differ quite a lot in power consumption. They can range from about 60Watts to over 100Watts depending on the chip.

I believe an X2 3800 uses 89Watts!?

A 305 watt Dell or HP power supply is enough to handle a 6600GT. They are high quality units.

I have a P4 530 Presscot. The minimum power supply for my 6600 was 305w but I thought it was worth a try. If the PSU can't handle something, it wouldn't be powering it for 9 mos. thus far.

I have a Ultra 500 watt in my PC and it works great , a few friends have them, and no problems. I ordered both anyway.
