problems on new build
hi there
just build my new computer and am having problems conecting to teh internet.. can conect to modem via usb or ethernet and cant conect to my router. when its trying to conect it say down the bottom, verifyin network adress or sumfin like that. also when i installed windows Iexplorer didnt install :s. and i havnt been able to install it from a cd i hav either.. and when i was installing it asked me to insert disc 'service pack 2' which didnt come with the othr windows discs.. im running MCE. oh and the aperance is in the windows classic style. and i cant change it to xp stye cause thats not and option, do i hav to dl it or sumfin plz help me.. thanks |

Have you done all the Windows updates?
Did you install the chipset and video card drivers?

i cant do windows updates cause i cant get on the internet. and i did install vid drivers and mobo drivers
i also get the '1608 (or sumfin like that) unable to install' error when installing some things edit: '1607: unable to install installshield scripting runtime' |

ok its all good. i found out with MCE OEM when it asks for service pack 2 disc u hav to put disc 1 back in
