CPU & MB Temperatures?

I have a Core 2 Duo 6600 and a Asus P5W DH Deluxe. What should the temperatures be on these? The motherboard seems like it's running kind of hot. Thanks in advance for the help.

Let's do it this way. What ARE your temperatures under what conditions and how are you reading them?

I used SpeedFan and got
System: 45
CPU: 34
Aux: 54
HD0: 34

I'm not sure what the Aux is but it looks to high.

Not terribly bad, what you need is better case airflow.

They appear fine to me. I've spent a lot of time getting worked up over temperatures. After some pretty extensive research it pretty much boils down to two things:

1) Are you having stability issues?
2) Are the temps often exceeding 60C?

If you can answer "no" to both of the above questions then things are good. Close SpeedFan and chill a little - no pun intended

My .02

I have the same CPU and motherboard and I see MB temps of ~45C and CPU temps of ~38-40C.

I am adding another fan to the front of my case and will be cleaning up some of the cableing to improve air flow.

Aux might be the northbridge or even the video card - if so, that's fine.

Check the temperatures in the bios.

Something seems odd...your system temp shouldn't be higher than your CPU temp...unless the system temp is the chipset temp. Normally the CPU temp would be slightly higher than the system temp.

It's all in the exact sensor placement - and 3rd party monitoring apps are not always accurate. Check the bios.
