Hi,
I have the same problem as thread " PSU problems " on 10-06-06 @ 7:26 pm. When I plug the cord from the wall to the p/s I get an initial spin of the case and cpu fans for a second then they stop turning. I built it in the case with just the p/s mb, cpu with heatsink and fan, video and 256 ddr mem. When that didn't work I took it ooc onto the mb box and tried it again to check for shorts. Still the same thing, few spins then quits. I realize it doesn't start so I took off the video card. I reseated the heatsink and fan, tried the mem in all 4 mem slots, took out the mem and tried to start it, took out the chip and tried to start(got that suggestion from another mb manufacturer). They said if it starts it will say on display that there is no cpu. The 4 pin connector is also plugged in. I tried a different p/s, with the same results. I don't have another cpu or mem to try but by the sounds of it it seems to be a power problem. I have a call in to the company I bought the board from to see if they can help. The p/s works in a different machine, as does the mem. I also jumpered the pins to try and start without the case wires. Anybody have any suggestions??? Thanks, Dave I've built a few machines but never a problem like this. The components of my new build are as follows: Chaintech S1689 socket 939 AMD 3700 Athlon XP Geforce 5500 AGP 256 video card Chiefmax 430w p/s 256 ddr ram(don't know brand name) |

Have you tried a different PSU. Sound like there is a problem with it.

RMA the motherboard.
Tech support should give you an exchange with no hassle.

Make sure the power on switch is plugged into the motherboard correctly.
