new build booted up but when I put in the Microsoft XP to load Windows, it gave me an error saying that "Set up did not find any hard drive installed in your computer". The hdd powers up so I am confused. The power supply is good and the hdd cable is plugged into SATA1. I keep reading about the ribbon cable, this hdd did not have and does not have a port for one. Any suggestions....please...we've come so far yet feel so far away!

Because it is a sata drive, you need to get the sata drivers on floppy, and whan the setup program prompts you to press F6 to load any additional drivers, you'll need to do that, and inject the floppy in there so it can load the drivers for your sata in the setup program and thus be able to access the harddrive. Ribbon cable is for traditional ide drives, which yours is not.
