Final build spec's...thoughts?
Case : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811129152
PSU : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817194003 DVD Writer : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827106013 DVD Rom : http://secure.newegg.com/NewVersion/...82E16827106028 HDD : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148144 RAM : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820146580 MB : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131070 CPU : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115003 Vid Card : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814121554 See any compatability issues here? This falls into my $1400> budget and I don't know where I could cut corners. Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks everyone!...wish me luck! |

For starters, get a dual channel kit of ram. Not a single stick.
The build looks good; where to cut corners though? You could get by with a much cheaper psu. More specifically this one: Enhance 500W $69 If you really want to order from newegg, its the same one, but costs $88. For videocard, you could save 80 bucks by going with the 256mb version. X1900XT 256MB Last but not least, if your still overbudget, I would suggest downgrading to an E6300 or E6400.

Or for more savings, a X1950Pro:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102061 I looked at the numbers the other day and it looks like the X1950Pro is only slightly behind the X1900XT, so it's a good bang for the buck.
