that looks nice.
But wondering if you get the free vista upgrade if you buy XP on its own. Anyway wouldn't it make more sense to have 2* dvd burners instead?

Why not just put it together already? Assembling a computer is fairly easy...the hard part is choosing all the right parts that will work together well.

Here are some tutorials to use as guides...

Hi

jer888, yes all has been ordered last order was placed 1st nov i have had the MoBo, CPU, Ram, Case, Graphics Card, and Cables a few weeks now because i could not afford everything at once.

786ARS, I have two PCs now with XP SP2 (full Windows XP Disks) so my present second PC i will format the HDD and load Windows 2000 OS as i am giving the PC to my boyfriend, so i wont be buying another Windows XP OS, hope im not sounding thick here but why two DVD RWs ? as i can copy/burn from a Rom Drive and make CDs/DVDs with Nero, as yet i have not needed to copy from DVD to DVD, Fizz

One thing to watch out for - do not connect the USB cables to the media reader till AFTER Windows is installed. Otherwise the media reader will grab the drive C designation. You should also do this before mounting the motherboard in the case to make sure the core components are okay:

Hi Fizz --

Congrats on your new build! As I read through your specs more closely, it's actually very similar to what I'm looking to build. Now that you've made into the realm of success, any advice for a newbie about to embark on the same path? What issues or concerns did you have along the way that I should consider?

Thanks...have fun with your new system!

One more thing...what size is your case? From dimensions alone, it looks like it will work in a mid-tower but I just want to be sure.

Thanks!
