Dual Core AMD gaming build recommendations?
Well I have been out of the loop in terms of technology. But I have long known how to build computers.
I'm not looking for an ultimate gaming machine, just an upgrade in terms of moving to a new mobo with PCI express (AMD based), I'll probabaly get those seagate 7200.10's too. I've searched yes, but I'll go on to my 3rd page of search results tomorrow during lunch. However a quick line or two would be helpful. |

How much are you willing to spend? Have a look at this setup: http://forum.pcmech.com/showpost.php...73&postcount=6
You can downgrade a few things to make it cheaper.

Does this have to be an AMD build? Intel's new architecture, core 2 duo, beats AMD's dual core offerings on price vs performance, while providing a stable platform when coupled with the right motherboard and chipset.
Let us know your budget for this system, and what parts you need (does the budget include new peripherals, a monitor etc.) FK

Thanks for the link. This will be a gaming machine. I've only built AMD before and will probably stick to that format. I already have a 19' LCD monitor, (mouse, keyboard, speakers, joystick, driving wheel :P) |

I really would recommend core 2 duo...spanks AMD right now. And there isnt much difference in the assembly of an amd system or an intel system, just how the cpu drops in.
