For the video card, the 7900gs is plenty up to par with the 7900gt, and for the price I'd get it. Look at something along the lines of this:

Motherboard: Asus P5B
Video card: eVGA 7900gs
Memory: 1/2gb. Corsair XMS2 PC6400
CPU: e6400
Case: Antec Sonata II
DVD: Liteon DVD burner

Do not forget Windows XP.

I would get an E6300 instead. E6400 isn't that much faster, and the budget is going to get tight if you want 2 gigs of RAM (and you should if you can).

I agree Blue, I was going to say that, too. The E6300 doesn't give any real performance loss in terms of normal computer tasking. You can always OC if you have the time to mess around with that, too.
