Having a problem
Hello,
I am doing the out of case build on the server (see below), and both CPU fans power up, and both are recognized, but in the BIOS it only shows me CPU_FAN1 fan speed, and not CPU_FAN2. I have tried flipping the cables, and switching connectors. It isn't too much of a problem, but any ideas? Asus K8N-DL 2gb Corsair ECC DDR400 74gb Raptor 2x Opteron 265

Is there an option to activate CPU 2 fan monitoring. It may have a one CPU default.

The temp for CPU2 shows up just not the fan speed. I know that they are both blowing at relatively the same speed as I switched connectors, so that is good.

As suggested by others, I will continue in this thread.
It seems that if I leave the motherboard idle for a long time, and then come back, I can enter the BIOS. When I shut everything down and connect all the drives it freezes when I try to get into the BIOS. Here is the strange thing, after resetting the CMOS and turning on the power supply, it boots right up as if something was shorting the two pins already? Defective motherboard? |

You may have a stuck power switch on the case. Try powering on/off with the case switch disconnected.

Everything is out of the case at the moment. The whole reason I even reset the CMOS was because it wasn't reading the windows CD, and after I did this I created a mountain of problems. I can't believe an Asus quality board is having these problems... I have always trusted Asus - never used anything else, but when I get my e6300 for myself, perhaps I will just go with a DS3.

Haha it all turns out all sticks of RAM Newegg sent me were bad. The first stick caused the system to freeze at post, and Asus suggested the other stick was causing it to freeze at Verifying DMI Pool Data. I will order some Kingston as the man suggested. Corsair is beginning to have quality control issues the man said.
