XP Media Center Help?!?!?!
I just got finished installing the XP MCE and i'm having some trouble.....whille in the installation process it ask me to insert the disk labeled "Service Pack 2" which was not in my packaging so I hit cancel and it finished installing and booted right up but all I really have is the recycle bin and the other standard XP accesories but no internet explorer so I checked my system info and it said XP MCE version 2002...I have a text icon in my start menu but it just says internet explorer and doesn't have the normal emblem and when I click on it it ask me what program I want to open it with....also I have a version 2005 update disk and when I put it in the drive I get an errror message that says "SRCLIENT.dll" could not be found and the disk will not run
I appreciate any and all help you offer THANKS!! |

Here is what I'd do: (1 of 3 things)
-Go to Start -> Search -> Internet Explorer OR -Go to Start -> Run -> iexplorer.exe OR -Open up any folder and in the address bar type: Microsoft.com -Download Internet Explorer 6 from the website It would be easier for others if everything was kept in one general help thread.

This is the Windows with the 3 installation discs, right? When you get the message about SP2 I heard you're supposed to put the first disc back into the optical drive.

I concur. And the best part is that if it weren't for this thread, I'd have been stuck too!
Thanks guys!
