Thinking about making server

I am thinking about making a server for a few different things. I was hoping I could have it do all of them simultaneously. Here is a list:

FTP server
Dedicated game server
Host a website
Do all my rendering for Cinema 4D

This is what I was thinking:

TYAN S3970G2NR-RS Dual Socket 1207 ServerWorks HT1000 ATX Server Motherboard - Retail

2x AMD Opteron 2210 Santa Rosa 1.8GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket F Dual Core Processor - OEM

2x
Transcend 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM ECC Registered DDR2 400 (PC2 3200) Server System Memory - Retail

FSP Group (Fortron Source) FX600 ATX12V/EPS12V 600W Quad. SLi Power Supply - Retail

3x Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 (Perpendicular Recording) ST3250620AS 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM

Thermaltake XaserV WinGo V8000+ Silver Aluminum/Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail

Please let me know what you think or if these part wouldn't be compatible for some reason. Also, wasn't sure of a good HSF to use for the processors.

Hosting a game server on its own is enough to suck your internet connection to the bone if all you have is residential internet (3-6 MBits). What type of internet do you have?

If you don't have that, then I wouldn't think about any of the other services

Yeah not sure about the game hosting over internet. Would definetly want to use it for decidated hosting when I have LAN parties though. FTP would probably be over internet, but require logins, and also FTP at LANs.

I would suggest one of these psu's instead:
Silverstone ST56ZF $137.99
Sparkle 550W $89.99

The reason behind this is due to the better line regulation on these powersupplies. Meaning more cleaner power to your components. Which is good because it will increase component life and reduce the risk of failure.

Both are server grade. The first is from Estasis, a major server powersupply OEM. The second is your sparkle. But this unit is from their Server Line.

Both with beefy single rails.

Thnx Mr Ferrari

I think I'll listen to you as far as PSUs go after our discussion on another thread. I also wasn't sure how much power I would need for the server.

EDIT: DANG! 38A on the 12v, I see why you like it.

EDIT: Also, I am thinking I'll do the 3 Seagates in RAID5

The sparkle is fine too if for bang/buck.

I would also look into some memory from a more reputable/reconized manufacturer. Such as Corsair or Crucial.

4x CORSAIR 512MB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM ECC Registered DDR2 400 (PC2 3200) Server System Memory - Retail

2x Crucial Technology 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM ECC Registered DDR2 533 (PC2 4200) Server System Memory - Retail

2x CORSAIR 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM ECC Registered DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) System Memory - Retail

I'm not sure exactly what would be the best. PC2 3200@CL3, PC2 4200@CL4, or PC2 5300@CL5

Have used OCZ and corsair before and trust them, no experience with Crucial before. Get heatspreaders for em?
