My 1st build - Advice please

I have decided to start building my 1st pc but would like some input before I begin. My biggest concern is whether or not everything is compatable. I'm pretty sure it is, but hey, it's my first time. Also is there somewhere I can improve or cut a corner? If you have any suggestions please let me know but I would like to keep the price under $1400. It will be used mostly for gaming, but also for the usual day-to-day stuff like homework, internet, work stuff, and all of that. Well, here it is.

http://secure.newegg.com/NewVersion/...Number=4399208

Thank you for any input you can give me. Oh and one more thing, I plan on buying a second Video card and using SLI but I wll not have the money to do it right away so I would like everything to be SLI compatable and plan on overclocking.

Some things that I would change:

Get a better power supply. Seasonic, Fortron Source, Antec, etc.
Get Corsair XMS2 RAM for reliability and compatibility.
Get a Liteon DVD burner
Drop the thermal compound and heatsink fan, the Intel one is all you need. That Cooler Master isn't the best for OC'ing anyway.

took me a little bit to go over that computer but man, it is crazy good and crazy compatible. No need to worry.

You MIGHT want to wait until you install an aftermarket heatsink and fan... and I know that some people have had high temperatures with the core 2 duos, but MAKE SURE that everything is on tight and just ride it out for about 30 days or something and if it is good, then it is good, but if you are noticing things getting hot... then I would advise the aftermarket parts.

aftermarket parts will also void any warranties, that is why I say to wait a little bit.

If you plan on going Sli, then look for a Sli Certified PSU that is Certified for the 7950. And pick one from brands that newbuilder listed. Ibelieve the nVidea web site has that list.

Based on the board selection, it appears that you will dabble in overclocking. That particular cooler has worked well for me. You will need an aftermarket cooler because once you begin increasing voltages, you will be increasing the temps considerably. Zalman CNPS 9500 and 9700 are good coolers as well.

looks good, definitely follow the above advice and look at better quality PS and memory. Most of the problems people have are from bad memory and cheap power supplies, dont make that mistake.
Also I prefer LiteOn over Samsung.

I also agree with waiting on the aftermarket cooling. Dont waste the money if you dont need it.
I have the duo version of that Vid card and highly resommend it..
