Upgrading mobo, cpu and mem...
I'm upgrading my exsisting my current AMD system to an intel system. I'll be changing out the motherboard, CPU and memory... and keeping the rest. What kind of issues will I have when post for the first time... Will windows require a reinstall? will the new drivers over write the old?.... Lots of questions... I'm a one computer person, so I don't have another rig to troubleshoot with or to ask question here on the forum if I have troubles. Any insight to what kind of problem I might have is greatly appreciated!
Old system AMD 4400+, ASUS A8N-E, DDR 400 New system intel e6600, eVGA 680i, DDR2 1066 Thanks! Lee

A clean install of XP is the easy way to go. But if you have data to keep, before you shut down the old system, will need to uninstall drivers for the mobo. Then, also, go into device manager/IDE controllers, select update drivers/select to manually find then/select the generic controller/close out. With the new parts, Windows should boot up.
