Why are you opting for a lower end onboard video motherboard when your already using a higher end video card? I would highly suggest something in the likes of Asus or even Abit.

And get this PSU instead: Akasa 500W PaxPower
Same price as the FSP but better.

Its gonna be really hard to get a decent board for that price range. But even though VIA isnt horrible for AMD. I still prefer native chipsets whenever possible. I.E nvidia.

This is the minimum I would suggest:
ASUS M2NPV-MX

The best and preferred choice would definately be this:
Asus M2N-E

The M2N-E supports Sata 3Gbps, you're all set there.

Mr. F was referring to the chipset on the motherboard. Nvidia chipsets are more stable then VIA. Again, going with the M2N-E, you're all set.

I second the M2N-E

VIA chipset = just a no-no if you are building a new machine. One of my new rules of thumb. I would use that chipset if I were not planning on gaming or anything too intense with graphics.

Well aparantly the onboard sound on the Asus mobo hogs quite alot of the cpu up when its on, so couldent i use a Creative external sound device with a USB connection i know its somewhere in my house would this not hog up as much cpu power?

Try the onboard sound first - if you have enough memory it shouldn't matter.

Alright then i think i will go for the Abit KN9S for the mobo though, it looks better as far as OC options go.

Stick with the M2N-E for stability.

I would take that review with a grain of salt. One, they were using Linux. Two, the guy say in the conclusion that the Abit "managed to pound" the Asus in the benchmarks but if you look at the all of the charts, there is probably only a few percentage points difference between the two. The reviewer sounds more like a paid Abit pitchman than a objective tester.
