First build problems

So, I've got everything hooked up and when I go to power the unit up the front power button light along with the dvd-writer front light comes on, the PSU fan and rear case fan come on for like 5 seconds and the CPU fan will go for a second, then nothing. There is a light on the MB near all the LED connectors thats on.

This is my first build, well second, but that was 4 years ago. Any info I'm missing here?

I have zero idea what's wrong.

Here is my build:

Causes for quick shutdowns on new builds:
1: motherboard standoffs- in the wrong postion/too many/not using any(causes shorts)
2: power connections: 24 pin AND 4pin to mobo/power to video card(not all connected)
3: CPU heatsink not installed correctly/completely(CPU thermal overload)
4: Thermal compound for heatsinks installed over existing or applied too thick(results, see #3)
5: Wrong PSU(undersized or incorrect ATX standard)resulting in under power
6: Cheap/junkie PSUs (false ratings/poor filtering/generally no safety circuits/etc)
