New media center/pc build
My goal with this system is to use it both as my pc and have options available as a media center. I currently have a sharp aquos 26" tv i want to use in this setup as a second monitor.
I will post my parts first and then my questions. NCIX canada Del Item Description In Stock Part # QTY Price Ext. Should I use xp media edition or xp home with beyond tv? 2. The sharp aquos has a dvi-i hookup. How will this tv look once hooked up to the pc? 3. Any suggestions for replacement parts for those that are backordered? 4. I chose this sound card over x-fi so I could use optical. Thoughts? 5. Any additions that I may have forgotten? Suggestions for a decent keyboard and mouse perhaps. 6. Thoughts on the samsung lcd I chose? This is probably a good start. Thank you in advance for looking this over. Cheers K |

Very good setup. I would go with the Seasonic S12 600 watt and (right now) XFX has the 7900GS Extreme Edition available in that price range. It doesn't have as many pipelines as the 7900gts, but it's fast, and duals would make a killer graphix setup. Great choice in hard drives. I would use XP Professional.

Actually with a little more research I'm going to swap the AuzenTech Mystique for the Xplosion edition.

Ordered the parts I listed. I stuck with the power supply and video card that were back ordered hoping to get them sooner than later. The damage in the end was around $3100 CAD. I'm pretty fortunate to have the money to spend on this setup. Good luck to everyone else in the same boat.
