Help with e6600 Budget Computer

Budget would be around $600..

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
$309.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115003

Things I need:
PCI-E x16 Video Card (I can get $100 X850XT for other parts)
RAM (I have DDR400 RAM, but if the motherboard requires DDR2..)
Motherboard
Processor Fan/Heatsink

I think I'm going to just use my current computer with the newer parts, so:
Parts I don't need:

PSU
Mouse/Keyboard/DVD ROM
CASE (I don't think)
Font and Rear 90mm Fans
Hard drives

Thanks!

Edit:
Newegg out of X850XT?!

That PSU is an older ATX 1 which is a single 12v rail. If you plan on a low end video card or on-board video that supply may be OK. The 12v current on that supply is a bit low for an E6600 and a video card. Best bet is to geta quailty 400 to 450w ATX 2.0 supply.

Onboard is a no. I'll just get a dual then. How much does a quality one go for?

For a mid-level video card: $54 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817104954
Get into the upper range: Around $75 and up for quailty 500w and bigger

An 850 Pro is 300w and so an XT is probably in the 350w range so your good to go.

That will power an X850XT in a heartbeat. Good selections. If you are gaming, why get the G965 chipset? Go with the Asus P5B IF YOU CAN afford it for a bit more.

Right now I'm looking at these motherboards:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...ubCategory=280

Anyone want to help find a better one? What would be the different between DDR2 800 and DDR2 667?

-I do not need onboard vid

Why do you need 2 PCI-E x16 slots? The ones that are under $200 probably run at 4x anyways, and do not supppot SLI/Crossfire. I'd go with a plain P5B.

If you can afford it the P5W DH would be my pick if you wanted Crossfire.

I don't know which is better between Crossfire and SLI. I'd be using one video card for now, so I don't need 2x PCI-E...

Now:Go Down

I would have to change the memory to DDR2 800 right?

Yes, it could run DDR2 533 for all that matters. Also, may want to get a Crossfire compatible video card just in case, if that one isn't already.

That CoolerMaster PSU isn't a true ATX 2.0 power supply...the 450 watt FSP PSU is a better choice.

You'll need a DUAL CHANNEL DDR2667 kit. You have but one memory module there.

Just letting you know they have the x850x as an open box for $98, if your willing to go the 'open box' route

What are you going to use the system for?

If gaming, then you need more ram, if just email, websurfing and lite stuff, then you're good to go.

If budget is an issue, get the E6300 and put the money where it's really needed.
