Exclamation Help, did I kill my computer?

Hi, I built a computer with an ASUS p5n32-SLI (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E16813131071), and it worked just fine for a day. However, once I plugged my mic and headphones in while installing bf2, the whole computer suddenly shut off. I opened it up, and found that I put the "AC'97" connector for the speakers onto either the "SPDIF_02" or "ADH" connector, i'm not sure which. the pins go like this on the motherboard:
OOOOO OOO
OOOOOOOOO

and the pins on the AC'97 connector looks like this:
OOO O
OOOOO

I had matched the holes together, and pushed it on there. Now, the computer wont even turn on. However, there is a green light on the mobo when I turn on the power supply. Did I fry my mobo?

Thanks,
Dennis

It sounds quite likely.

So is this a problem that's possible to fix, or am I stuck getting a new mobo?

If the motherboard got fried, it's useless.

Hey, I tried it out, and the power still doesn't come on. I also resetting the BIOS, but the computer doesn't power up. However, the SB_PWR (South Board Power?) light comes on. Does this mean anything?

That only means the motherboard is getting power from the power supply...motherboard could be fried but the LED will still light up.

SB_POWER means that the PSU is providing stand-by power.

Okay, so it's probably dead. Do you think that I would be able to RMA the board? Technically there's no physical damage (no bent pins, etc.)

Go ahead and try. Newegg can only say no.

oh, one more thing, my heatsink seems to be stuck onto the processor by thermal grease. How would I go about taking that off?

Loosen up the latches for the heat sink and gently twist the heat sink back and forth. This should release the thermal compound seal.
