First Build

Alright this is my first build, and of course i expecting to run into some problems although i cannot figure out what is wrong. When i go to power on the computer with the front on/switch it doesnt turn on. So the next thing i did was strip the thing and start over with just the video card/mobo/ps/ram/cpu/heatsink and led fans. When i pressed the on/off switch this time the led on the fan would light up for like a quater of a second then turn off. The green light on the mobo is on the whole time also. I am getting very perplexed, can you please help me figure out why the computer is turning on.

We need FULL specifications to help you, if you know them.

Is that a P5L2D and a Core 2 Duo E6600? They are not compatible.

2nd revision is supposed to be compatable. Do you have another PSU that you can use for these tests?

Fortron Source, version 2.0, 2 SATA, PCI Express, 400W Power Supply Retail $41.50

It very well could be your PSU.

Don't get a hyper memory video card unless you want your system RAM to be eaten.

Tim, hyper memory means it is taking your system memory and resources - I highly suggest against a card like that. I wonder if you mean he has plenty of RAM.

He said he had the P5L2D, so I assumed R1 - sometimes people need to be more specific.
