Do you see any black spots or burnmarks on the motherboard? Could be that the power supply went out on you and you may be able to replace that, but the question is did something cause the power suply to go such as another piece of defective hardware or something incorrectly installed. If nothing is obviously burnt on the motherboard, I would start with a new power supply, and start out by following the new build troubleshooting steps out of the case with bare minimum components as listed here:

http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=132409

Obviously something was screwey with that first mouse you had..
Could you give hardware specs please?

Low end motherboard, low end power supply. Either or both could be fried. I'd return that whole bundle and buy some quality components from someone other than Tiger Direct.

That old power supply won't work if it doesn't have the 24 pin main motherboard power connector and the 4 pin 12v power connector.

I'd guess a capacitor in the power supply popped. Cheap low quality power supplies will do that because of the sub-standard parts that go into them.

Try doing the out-of-case troubleshooter that ktkendall provided the link to. Let us know what happens.

Not necessarily. That's a 20 pin AGP board. It does need the 4 pin aux connector though.
