building a new pc, need some advice and help

hey im looking to build a new gaming comp, and need some help with what parts to use or even if these parts i picked out are even compatible. my limit is about $1300 and i have the simple things done like the monitor, keyboard, mouse, hard drives, and dvd drives done.

motherboard-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131031

videocard- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150199

ram-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820211061

processor-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115003

power-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817182016

it would help a lot if anyone could tell me if the parts are even compatible or tell me if there are any cheaper alternatives.

p.s what would be a nice computer case to put all this stuff in.

please and thanks

I'll second Corsair VS RAM and the P5B vanilla. No need for the Deluxe, see below.

If you're planning on SLI, the only way to do it right is to shell out the big bucks for a motherboard with the 680i chipset. I would stick with one card for your budget, so the P5B is a winner.

Also, the 7950GT is a great card, but with DirectX 10 just around the corner, you may want to look into some mid-range cards for now and upgrade later on. The X1950Pro and 7900GS cards are good fits here.

Also, Rosewills are not the best power supplies. Take a look at our list for some good brands: http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=131195

Welcome to PCM.

Definitely don't recommend that motherboard. The P5B is a great choice.

Agree with what Alaron said, the X1950Pro would be my pick - Radeons are nice I hear.

Power Supply: Something 500w from a reputable manufacturer.

Memory: Save yourself a few bucks and go with the Corsair ValueSelect memory as suggested above.

Refer to the BYOPC guide and also build using the Out of Case Troubleshooter (stickied in this forum up top) to build your PC out of the case to see if it posts. This is a good practice to do and I do it with each of my builds - except my first.
