USB driver problem?

I recently built a new computer. Thank you for your help on some previous issues. I now have it all up and running. The thing runs GREAT and fast. The only problem is, that my 10 USB slots don't work .

I have them wired correctly. I can plug my PDA in any of them and it will charge, but my comp can't read it and sync with it. When I plug the printer into any of them, it can't read it. Basically, the USB's can give out juice, but I can't actually use anything that's plugged into it.

Any suggestions?

System:

Mobo: MSI K9n Platinum
Processor: AMD Athlon X2 4200+ dual core
RAM: 2GB corsair DDR2 800Mhz
Hard Drives: WD 250GB SATA

I have a USB 1GB thumbdrive. When I put it in the light does not come on and I cannot access it.

1. Check to be sure the usb port connectors are connected to the usb mobo headersand not a 1394 or some other header.
2. Have you loaded the mobo and chipset drivers?
These may seem like silly questions but usually you will find something simple that causes your problem.

USB drivers are included with XP SP2... do you have that?

You should not have to do anything more, really, than plug them into the motherboard.

In Device Manager do you see any yellow exclamation points/question marks next to any USB devices?

I connected them all fine (mind you both the USB on the front and back panels are not working)

I have installed all of the drivers for the chipset that came with the mobo.

I have installed XP SP2

In device manager I actually do not see any USB ports like I have on other computers. The only USB thing on the list is:

Universal Serial Bus Controllers: ATI Remote Wonder Controller

If the ports are not there in device manager there is either a problem with the driver or you may have a defective mobo. I would suggest you go to the manufactuers site and downlaod the latest ones and install them. Keep in mind it may be a several step process. Install, reboot, install.

Are you using an ATI remote control through the USB?
