build now or wait till march?

i know i've stated before that i'm going to build a computer for my parents, but this time it's unavoidable (and nobody here really remembers anyway, right?).

my parents are coming back (to canada) in march and want a computer.
my mom likes to install lots of programs, burn dvds, prepare picture presentations, download stuff, etc. and she wants the "best".

so before i open a thread asking for build suggestions, i want to know if you guys suggest buying components now (taking advantage of christmas/boxing day sales) or waiting until march (and capitalizing on possible price drops or new products)?

Honestly, I'd buy the parts whenever you need them. Technology changes rapidly anyway.

That's always a tough question. I've know folks that buy as their budget allows, and they're happy even though by the time they're done buying, the stuff the got is even lower in price, and new stuff is out at the same price.

Me? I think I'd just save up and buy it all when the time comes.

At this time I would wait until March, hardware for Vista will be more readily available. I sure she will want the new interface.
