Need some help with boot
i have been trying all day to figure out what is wrong with it. Trying all different kinds boots and other sources and im trying to get my computer to boot MS-Dos and then be able to run windows xp it says that it just gives me "A:\>" and when i type in fdisk it brings up a screen with the words no fixed disks present. and gives the line "A:\>" again. Any help would be great or a link that would lead me to the right setup that i will need.
If you need any other information i will be glad to give it too you i just need to know what exactly what you need to know and i'll find it for you. |

If doing a fresh install of XP, in the BIOS set the CD/DVD to first boot device. Put the XP disk in the drive and reboot. It will come to a screen asking if new install and to format a new partition. Let it format in NTFS. After that just let XP do it's install thing.
