New buildish...
The PC that I am building was not working when I turned it on(no monitor output, and no post beeps), so I tested the CPU from the new build in a working PC and there is no monitor output or post beeps, I have also tested a working CPU in the new build and the new build still has no post beeps or monitor output.
Does this mean that both the CPU and mobo are both dead? Btw, I have done all the out of the case building before with these components and it didn't make a difference. Thanks in advance. |

1. Check your power supply. it may have gone first. if so, hopefully it didnt take your other parts with it.
2. Make sure the processor and the mother boards are compatable 3. Make sure The processor is properly installed and oriented the correct direction What are your system specs? |

PSU does work in another PC perfectly.
CPU and Mobo are definetley compatible. The CPU only fits in one way so I got something right I guess! The new build specs would be: Intel P4 630 3.0GHz ASRock 775i65G 1GB PC3200 RAM The system I was testing the components in specs are: Intel PD 945 3.40GHz ASRock 775VM800 Pro 1GB PC3200 RAM The story is that I had the P4 630 in the system I currently use and I wanted to upgrade the CPU to a Dual Core which I did successfully. I decided to do a new build with the old P4 CPU, so I bought a new mobo, case, PSU, RAM, HD. But the new build has never worked, I never got any post beeps or monitor output. I returned the mobo to the seller and they sent it back and said that the CPU pins were slightly bent, and that that was my doing. They put the CPU pins in the right position as best they could. But I don't think that this is what has killed the CPU and mobo. When I first put the new build together I accidentally left a screw under the mobo and the mobo shorted out to the case, which is what fried the CPU and mobo I think. Would you agree? |

"Accidentally left a screw under ther mobo" would have been a valuable bit of info right from the start.
I would think that your right about the screw trashing the mobo and CPU.
