Need low budget gaming pc

I have an Asus A8v deluxe MB, 2g ram, 400w PS, 160g Maxtor HD, AMD Athlon 64 3500 cpu, and evga 7900 gs APG card. My system plays games great with the video card. Midevel II and Oblivion etc. My next door neighbor would like similar system capable of those games. I sugested minimum of my components or greater. I think he would be better suited to go with pcie so he can upgrade from that, any suggestions on MB and cpu, and pcie card that can handle as well as my apg would be great. The budget would still be comparable to my system, say $600.

Your right on it

Thanks, that is about the area of the stuff that I am looking for. Something like that would give him a good set up for gaming.

If his present computer is a prebuilt(Dell/HP/Emachine/etc), will need also get a different case/PSU/ram/OS. Could reuse optical and HD drives.
