WiLl ThIs WoRk?

Hello everyone,

ok so ive been looking for a new PC and decided agaisnt getting one, and rather buying this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=150073985792

Ok so now that i have that i just want make sure that with that 'motherboard combo' i can hook up the following parts, and then my new pc will run.

I plan on using my 'mobility radeon 9200/9250 series' 256 mb graphics card that i currently have plugged in an AGP 8x slot into the new motherbaord.

I plan on using my current tower, and if its not big enough ill buy another one.

I also am going to buy a new powersupply, and im not sure how much to get, but the people selling this mobo reccomeneded around 450 watts.

I have a 512 pc 2700 184 pin ram right now, but if it doesnt work ill buy some more , cuase i need at least a gig anyway

Then i am going to use my current harddrive thats around 120Gb (after its reformatted) im just not sure if its compatible if someone could tell me if it is that would be cool, its a NFTS drive and when i go to properties on drive C i find that one of the drives is a 'SAMSUNG SV1203N" i dont know if that helps or if i need to go else where to find diffrent specs.

finaly i have a monitor, mouse, keyboard, speakers to hook up, it says it comes w/ a network card and ethernet so im going to assume that i can just hook up my cable interenet with my ethernet cable.

Any advice, a little or a lot will be greatly appreciated, this is my first time making a computer, so before i by this mobo i jsut want to clear up these things, thanks

-Jack

That mother board is the low of the low(PC Chips). Wouldn't even consider getting that combo.
What kind of budget are you looking at?

Jack, that mobo is really low quality. Asus is a great brand and Newegg.com is a super good place to order from.
You can get the same deal at Newegg for about $115 including shipping. And they deliver FAST.

Check it out here.

Also, Ebay isn't the best place in the world to buy your gear from. Kinda risky.

thanks, yea i guess its pretty low quality, but do u know if newegg sells mobo's that come with the processor and a cooler and all that stuff, basically i want to buy a mobo that has everything but RAM, harddrive, and GPU. my budget is as low as possble ummm all i really want is a 64 bit procesor and new mobo, but i would prefer to buy the processor and mobo together.

thanks,
-Jack

Try this link for the mobo/cpu combo. The shipping is $6.13 approx.

This mobo has an AGP slot, but not a PCI-E slot which is necessary if you ever go for a newer vid card. But it will work with the card you talked about.

EDIT:
Newegg only sells this CPU as OEM, which means a short warranty and no fan/heatsink. Hmmm. Let's try Zipzoomfly.

It's pretty hard to find Good AGP mother boards anymore. Today, most combos that have an AGP slot motherboard, the mother board is probably from a low end maker.
The mother board on my list has on-board video so if you don't game it should be enough.

the Asus and the CPU in your last post is probably the best your going to find for the outdated 754 AMD socket. And can use your ram and video card. You will need to buy a copy of XP if your old PC was a prebuilt name brand.
350w PSU is all you need.

If you buy a retail CPU then it includes a cooling device.

The only other cooling devices you'd need are a case fan or two.

Looks like your hard drive is IDE, so it should work just fine. Remember, I don't think you can just hook up that hard drive to a new system, though.

I searched your hard drive on Google and that's what I came up with...

Sure, you can look in your case and see if it uses a red, narrow cable or a wide, ribbon cable.

It doesn't matter, either one will work with your motherboard. The red cable is much preferred, though.
